This is old news but something I want to hit on since it was brought up in the debate last night.
Kerry continues to talk about how all of these government programs are underfunded and how he wants to throw more money at it. Where will that money come from though? Us. He says that he will only tax those above the 200,000 mark, but just out of pure common sense I can't see how that will be possible.
Aside from that lets talk about John Kerry personally. Last year John Kerry and his wife paid 12% of their income to taxes. The Bush's on the other hand paid 28% and they make far less. Wouldn't it make sense that if a person were talking so strongly about raising taxes on that top 1% that they would be paying their share of taxes to start?
As for the tax break that Kerry continues criticize, that top 1% that recieved most of the taxbreak...well, that seems to make sense since that the top 1% pay 30% of the nations taxes! If you're going to give back money, doesn't it make sense to give it back to the people that paid it to begin with?
One simple truth...there will always be income class brackets. Even if you took everyone's income and split it evenly, communist style, it would take just a little time before people would use their money foolishly and those that would use it wisely. Look at immigrants that come to this country with nothing but end out with jobs, homes, and strong income. Anyone who wants to make it in America can and it's not the government's job to take their hard work and give handouts to those who do not.
