the switch?

So, I've been thinking about getting a Mac for a while. When ipods first came out a few years ago I started thinking about it and then once we got on the road EVERYONE had Macs. Since I'm into photograph, video, and music...and that just so happens to be Mac's strong points (and the industry's standard) I've been led even further into switching.

Jen's grandfather has an iMac g4. I played with it a bit tonight, I guess that's the thing that really has me thinking about it. if they were just a little cheaper! seeing that I can buy an incredible Dell system for under 1000 and the comparable Mac is 2-3x that...ugh!

How about some comments? Any experiences out there?

I just got an IBook G4, it has taken awhile to get used to (for example I had to get a whole other book to break everything down for me), but I really do like it. To sum it up, its pretty, its fast, but you still need other software separate from what is already provided for all the *magic*.
